Approximately 900 years ago the inhabitants of the beautiful valley of Cusco were dispersed and many of them did not know the magic that made the land and animals flourish, then wise men who knew agriculture, livestock, ceramics and textiles arrived from the south. These children of the Sun God left Lake Titicaca to embark on the sacred mission of founding a prosperous and kind kingdom. This kingdom would be heir to the wisdom of the children of the Sun God and would last forever. To make sure that all the peoples remembered the wise teachings of the ancients, they celebrated every year, on the winter solstice, a tremendous festival dedicated to the earth, the sun and their children, this festival is called Inti Raymi, the festival of God Sun that begins the Andean New Year.
The Incas dedicated a tremendous festival to the Sun God at the beginning of the winter solstice, this June 24 we will celebrate this ancient festival, you are welcome.
Although there is no further documentation about the Inti Raymi, only the texts of chroniclers, we know that the neighboring kingdoms of the Incas and the city of Cusco came from each cardinal point to worship the Sun God, brought offerings and dances, typical of the jungle, the coast and the lake that gave rise to the celebration. Today we have a replica that was established in 1944 by our historians and writers, although it is difficult to guess that this was how the Incas dreamed and executed them, the truth is that it is an experience like no other.
