Cusco Travel, Ancestral Traditions & Rich Living Culture

Cusco is a cultural capital by excelence, thanks to its people and live customs, expressed in its multitude of dances, festivities and religious rituals, and in the fusion of the Inca and colonial heritage that one can appreciate any time of the year.

The ultimate expression of its religious manifestations can be seen in its museums and churches, in the city as well as in the provinces. Some places that one must visit are the Museum of Religious Art that has an exhibition of paintings belonging to the Cusco Art School, the church and convent of Santo Domingo or Qoricancha, the Inca Museum that houses an important exhibition of textiles and metal hancrafted pieces.

When talking about festivities, the tourist can enjoy the feast of Ollantaytambo in January, the international feast of the Inti Raymi and Corpus Christi in June, the feast of the Virgin of Paucartambo in August and many more along the year.

The navel of the world, the capital city of the Tahuantinsuyo, the oldest living city of the continent or the archaeological capital of America; Cusco has many names because it is a region full of history, where innumerable and important tourist attractions are located, among them Machu Picchu, one of the new wonders of the world.

This magical city offers the visitor historical monuments that talk about its valuable Inca and colonial past, museums that gather the best of Cusco culture, diverse art and folklore expressions, exquisite gastronomy of international level and an active night life.

But Cusco is much more. For those who want a complete visit of this enchanting region - located more than one thousand kilometers southwest of Lima - the Inca Trail, the citadel of Choquequirao and the numerous towns located along the new modern interoceanic highway have to be included in their itinerary
