The rains end and the frosty season arrives in the city of Cusco after a magical and last rain of the season, which is usually between three and five in the afternoon, the always radiant sun of the Incas is slightly overshadowed by a brief drizzle, even so the weather is still hot, but after a few minutes the real show begins, an extensive and heavy rain that sometimes brings hail, many say that this mixture between the evening sun, the rain and the hail are omens because a Andean witch has found a happy couple and that they are possibly getting married at that very moment or that they will do so with the first rain of November.
The truth is that this spectacle has remained with me since I was very young, it was I who was attentive to the last rain of the season, to the farewell to the cloudy skies and beautiful rainbows. And yes, there is one last rain, the final one, but in recent years our land no longer offers that spectacle, it will be due to global warming, because Cusco is only for tourists or because we did something to Mother Earth.
Cusco prepares for the festivities and cultural activities, saying goodbye to the refreshing rain and welcoming the sun of June, the Sun of the Incas.
Even so, this is one of the best times of the year, perfect so that the visitor is not bothered by the rains and enjoys a summer between April and May, although the temperature drops at night, all cultural activities begin, festivities and preparations for Inti Raymi. Cusco is for tourists, they are welcome to our ancient land, the welcoming land of the ancient and wise Incas.
